Rock Musical Poster Comp

A comp for a poster; 2010 Here's a poster comp I worked on a few weeks ago. I'm not sure if my design will make the final cut so I removed the title from the comp first and will hopefully upload the final design once the people I'm talking to make up their minds. A comp, or a comprehensive layout or comprehensive, is the page layout of a proposed design as initially presented by the designer to a client, showing the relative positions of text and illustrations before the specific content of those elements has been decided on, as a rough draft of the final layout in which to build around. The brief for the design stressed the need to portray conflict between two men of equal vision but from opposing social classes and the chaos that ensues from that conflict. The headshot is a picture of a friend of mine redrawn in sharpies and scanned then vectorized.

Sick

Digital Sketch; Photoshop The bad weather finally got me. I've been fighting a bad cold for over a week and I seem to be losing. My head hurts and cant seem to focus because of blocked sinuses. And a really runny, leaking and obnoxiously red nose. Time to hit the bed...

QTV 2010 Station I.D. Storyboard

This is the storyboard I made for the 2010 QTV station i.d. As with all storyboards, this one underwent a gazillion permutations/variations/revisions before it was approved and shot. The first versions had fully colored panels but the necessities of time -- or the lack of it -- led to smaller, looser sketches made using wacom tablet. The final board also sported a set of paste-ups and rescans of the original boards -- a veritable Frankenstein's monster of a storyboard! You can view the final video here.

40 years Invite

My parents celebrated 40 years of marriage last December and my brother and sisters threw a party for family and friends. I made the invites and gift tags. We chose a palette of ruby reds and I retouched one of their beautiful wedding pictures taken way back in 1969. Digital printing on special paper.

Welcome!

Welcome to my little corner of cyberspace. I am a Filipino illustrator and graphic designer currently working as an art director for GMA 7's News TV channel 11. Previously, I've been primarily involved in imaging and branding communications and have worked in the fields of print, retail and corporate branding. Here, you can view my latest assignments from storyboards, concept designs to finished projects since 2002. Aside from serious bread and butter works, I'll also be posting works of a more personal bent -- from nonsensical doodles to rendered flights of fantasy -- in both digital and traditional mediums. So drop by ever so often. I'd like to share with you my little treasures made somewhere east of here and west of there.
